Full Version: Lot and Serial Number on the Ethernet Based Devices

The lot and serial number located on the bottom of our Ethernet based devices provide a way of uniquely identifying the date and production run of a unit.

The lot number is based on the actually date the firmware was last flashed into the device. The date is based on the general format YYMMDD, where AA=2000, AB=2001, etc.

The serial number on the other had is based on the last three bytes of the MAC Address, where 00:04:3B:00:00:01 would refer to S/N: 0-00000001.
