Hello, the current device I am using is an Ethernet to RS-232 Quad Serial Controller,

I am using a crossover cable connecting the RS-232 to my PC, a Windows 7 (x64 bit) computer, yet when I install the latest driver/firmware, and open the WIN7_2008_XP_2000 folder, then open setup.exe, it installs as supposed to, etc.

However when the install finishes and the software opens up, it does not show the RS232 under "Ether-Links near me", in fact, you cant even expand "Ether-links near me".

As to some solution I read that didn't work:
Disable your firewall: I have already done that, no significant results.

Please answer back onto some possible solutions.
Hi there,

Are you certain that you have a valid connection to the ESL?  Have you tried pulling up the ESLs embedded webpage or pinging the device?

In addition to firewall settings preventing devices from being discovered in the Lava Manager I've also seen this occur with some antivirus applications and certain switches/routers.

Given that you're going over a crossover cable the possibility of it being a switch/router can be ignored, however are you certain that you have an actual crossover cable?  Not all of our ESLs are auto-sensing, meaning that unless you have an actual crossover cable the ESL won't be able to communicate with your PC.

Yes, It has an ethernet head on both sides, and I am guessing my Malware Bytes Anti-Malware shouldn't block it without notifying me first.

P.S: How do I pull up its webpage/ping it?
