Issue:
An older, known good, card has been installed on a newer motherboard, but the system will not boot with the card in the system.

Cause:
This is a hardware incompatibility issue that exists between older cards and newer motherboards. This issue arose when motherboard manufacturers began requiring a previously optional signal line be present on all PCI cards.

Resolution:
All new PCI cards manufactured within the last 5 years have been redesigned to adhere to this new requirement, however this issue may be observed with older cards.

In this particular situation the card is not actually defective and an RMA of the card will not resolve the issue, as our warranty states that we will repair or replace with a product of equal functionality.
